Board of Elections and Registration

The Board of Elections is responsible for conducting fair and impartial elections and registering residents to vote. Elections and registration is conducted in accordance with the Georgia Election code, State Election Board Rules, Federal and Local Laws.

The Tattnall County Board of Elections appoints an Election Supervisor who is responsible for conducting fair and impartial elections and registering local residents to vote. Elections and registration are conducted in accordance with the Georgia Election code, U.S. Justice Department Regulations, State Election Board Rules, Federal and Local Laws. 

The Board of Elections consists of three members appointed for four-year terms by the Tattnall County Board of Commissioners. The Board oversees the annual budget for the Election Office and all activity conducted by the Election Supervisor.  The Board ensures that all services and functions necessary to support the election process are performed. 

The Election Supervisor conducts primaries and elections in accordance with State law.  The Election Supervisor secures facilities to serve as polling locations for these precincts, recruits, selects, hires, trains and assigns personnel to serve as poll officials. The Supervisor also conducts qualification for candidates, develops ballots for elections, acquires, maintains, prepares and delivers equipment used to conduct elections, publicizes notices as required by law and maintains elections records.
