Glennville Recreation Department

The Glennville Recreation Department was established in 1978 and serves the community from a 62-acre park named in honor of H. Prentice Kicklighter, who was known as "Mr. Recreation" in Glennville.

The park consists of 62 acres of land with a 10 acre pond. It has six baseball/softball fields, three picnic pavilions, four tennis courts, two basketball courts and two playground areas. The rec department offers baseball, softball, basketball, football, soccer and other programs for youth and adults alike.

The park features a stocked fish pond and a walking track for all ages. Two covered picnic tables and grills located next to the pond are available for rental. Call the GRD for more information regarding prices and schedules.

All fisherman 16 and older must have a current Georgia Fishing License and a Fishing Permit from the Glennville Recreation Department. The $10 GRD Fishing Permit is good for one year from the date of purchase.

All children under 12 may fish for free but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Fishing is allowed from sunrise until sunset only. Fishing with any gear other than pole and line or rod and reel is be prohibited.

Only boats with electric propelled motors are allowed. No camping, swimming, or littering is per allowed.
